The LETIX Victim and Law Enforcement Notification Service allows financial and information services' industry partners to quickly structure notifications to affected businesses or individuals, and law enforcement agencies in the event of a data breach. This service leverages LUCID, the LETIX Universal Case Identification Database which is a secure online collaboration and search platform developed by LETIX to increases the effectiveness of identity theft and fraud related investigations for both financial services institutions and law enforcement agencies.
Industry partners choose which compromised account information to share with LETIX and whether LETIX should contact the victim on the partners behalf. LETIX can generate customized victim alerts that point to a secure partner branded website where victims are able to access information on identity theft and submit updates on suspicious post-breach activity.
If desired, industry partners can make some or all of the data collected available to relevant local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Law enforcement investigators are then able to use LUCID's search and collaboration engine to build cases against those who perpetrated the data breach and those who leverage the breached data to initiate financial crime. All information collected from the victims and public information submitted by law enforcement is then made immediately available to the industry partner.
